Terms of Service

Terms and Conditions

By accessing or using Squegy, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

Welcome to Squegy, an on-demand artisans hiring platform that connects users ("Clients") with independent service providers such as plumbers, electricians, cleaners, mechanics, and other artisans ("Artisans"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Squegy mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

1. Definitions

  • "Squegy," "we," "us," or "our" refers to Squegy LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, operating the Platform.
  • "User" refers to any person who accesses or uses the Platform.
  • "Client" refers to a User who requests or receives services.
  • "Artisan" refers to a User who offers or provides services through the Platform.
  • "Services" refers to artisan services facilitated through the Platform.
  • "Booking" refers to a request for services made by a Client and accepted by an Artisan.

2. Nature of the Platform

Squegy is a technology marketplace. We do not provide artisan services ourselves and do not employ Artisans. Artisans are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of Squegy.

Squegy's role is limited to facilitating connections, bookings, payments, and communication between Clients and Artisans.

3. Eligibility

To use Squegy, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts;
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Registration

You must create an account to use certain features. You agree to keep your login credentials confidential and are responsible for all activity under your account.

4.2 Account Suspension or Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms;
  • Engage in fraud, abuse, or illegal activity;
  • Provide false or misleading information.

5. Artisan Obligations

Artisans agree to:

  • Provide services professionally, safely, and in accordance with applicable laws;
  • Hold any required licenses, permits, or certifications;
  • Accurately represent skills, pricing, and availability;
  • Complete accepted Bookings or properly cancel in advance.

Squegy does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of Artisan services.

5B. Artisan Verification

When you register as an Artisan, we ask for basic identity information: your name, phone number, and a valid ID. We use this to confirm you are who you say you are.

Squegy does not independently verify professional certifications or trade qualifications unless that verification is explicitly stated on your profile. If your profile says you are a licensed electrician, that claim is yours. We may ask for supporting documents and will flag profiles that appear misleading, but the responsibility for accuracy sits with you.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove any Artisan profile where identity or credential information is found to be false.

6. Client Obligations

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate service requests and location details;
  • Pay all applicable fees for completed services;
  • Treat Artisans respectfully and safely;
  • Not request illegal or unsafe services.

7. Bookings, Payments, and Fees

7.1 Pricing

Service prices may be set by Artisans or estimated by the Platform. Final pricing may depend on job scope.

7.2 Payments

Payments are processed through Squegy's approved payment partners. By using the Platform, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method.

7.3 Platform Fees

Squegy may charge:

  • Service fees to Clients;
  • Commission or platform fees to Artisans.

All fees will be disclosed before confirmation.

7.4 Refund Policy

We issue refunds in the following situations:

  • The Artisan cancelled after a confirmed Booking;
  • The service was not delivered as described and a dispute was resolved in the Client's favour;
  • A duplicate charge occurred due to a payment error.

Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the service date or the cancellation. To request a refund, contact us at [email protected] with your booking reference and a short description of what went wrong.

Approved refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your payment provider. We do not issue refunds for completed services where no verifiable service failure occurred. In those cases, use the dispute process in Section 15.

8. Cancellations

Plans change. Here is how cancellations work on Squegy.

  • More than 24 hours before the scheduled service: free for both parties, no penalties.
  • Within 24 hours of the service: a cancellation fee may apply at Squegy's discretion, depending on the service type and timing.
  • Artisan no-show: if an Artisan fails to show up without prior notice, the Client receives a full refund and may file a report against the Artisan. We will review the Artisan's account.
  • Repeated cancellations: Users who cancel repeatedly, on either side of the platform, may face account penalties or suspension. We will notify you before any action is taken.

9. Ratings and Reviews

Users may leave ratings and reviews. Reviews must be honest. You may not post content that is defamatory, threatening, or a deliberate attempt to mislead.

9B. Review Removal

We only remove a review if it contains:

  • A false statement of fact (not just a negative opinion);
  • A personal attack, threat, or discriminatory language;
  • Content that violates our Community Conduct policy.

We do not remove reviews because they are negative or because the reviewed party disagrees with them. If you believe a review should be removed, report it through the app. We assess all reports within 48 hours.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for unlawful purposes;
  • Harass, abuse, or harm another User;
  • Circumvent the Platform to avoid fees;
  • Introduce malware or attempt unauthorized access.

10B. Community Conduct and Safety Policy

Squegy exists to connect clients with skilled artisans in a professional, trustworthy environment. To keep it that way, we have a zero-tolerance approach to harmful, abusive, or illegal behavior on the platform.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users;
  • Post or share content that is defamatory, hateful, or obscene;
  • Solicit or facilitate illegal activity of any kind.

Enforcement

We monitor the platform and remove content that violates these standards. If you engage in prohibited conduct, we may hide your content, suspend your account, or terminate it permanently. We act at our discretion and without prior notice where necessary.

Reporting and Blocking

We give users tools to flag content and block interactions that feel unsafe or unprofessional. When you block someone, their content disappears from your view immediately. We review all reports within 24 hours. If a report is confirmed, we remove the content and take action against the responsible party. These tools exist to protect the quality and safety of the Squegy community for everyone on the platform.

11. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, trademarks, logos, and software are owned by or licensed to Squegy. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." SQUEGY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Squegy shall not be liable for:

  • Personal injury or property damage caused by Artisans;
  • Losses arising from disputes between Users;
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Squegy from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

15. Dispute Resolution

If something goes wrong, email us first. Send your name, booking reference, and a description of the issue to [email protected]. We will attempt to resolve disputes informally within 14 days of receiving your message.

If we cannot reach a resolution within that window, the dispute may be referred to arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction in the applicable country. You agree to pursue claims individually, not as part of a class action or group claim.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise based on where you are using the Platform.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post updates on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

18. Contact Information

Email: [email protected]

19. Geographic Scope

Squegy is available globally where the Platform operates. Features, support, and how the Platform works may vary by location.

If you access Squegy from a location where the Platform is not offered or a feature is unavailable, some functionality may not work as expected. We are not liable for issues arising from use where the service is not offered.
